Our vision for the future is Better Care Together: high quality core services and enhanced specialist services for our patients. We have been developing our vision and plans for integration with Medway NHS Foundation Trust, the trust that runs Medway Hospital, since early 2011.
In February 2013, following the announcement that Medway NHS Foundation Trust is one of fourteen trusts subject to a National Commissioning Board (NCB) review of Hospital Standardised Mortality Ratios (HSMR), Medway NHS Foundation Trust’s Board requested a temporary pause in the Monitor assessment process of the integration.
Both Boards want time and space to concentrate on their patient services, and so Monitor, who were assessing the case for integration, have been stood down. The Dartford Board have agreed to discuss the time period of the pause with the NHS Trust Development Authority before re-entering the integration process. This allows both hospitals to regroup and focus on the business of caring for our patients.
Please explore these webpages to find out more about our plans for integration, why we are working to become one organisation and what our Better Care Together vision means. We regularly post updates on our progress, so take a look at the updates tab to see how we’re getting on.
