Consultant Cardiologist

Consultant Cardiologist at Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust based at Darent Valley Hospital and Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at Guy's & St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in Central London appointed May 2007.

 

Dr Sidhu qualified from St. Mary’s Hospital School of Medicine (University of London) in 1994 and gained several Prizes, University Distinctions and a Medical School Scholarship. He obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1997. Subsequently, he undertook specialist training in Cardiology and General Internal Medicine in the North West Thames Region. Dr. Sidhu completed 2 years of Research in Clinical Cardiology at St. George’s Hospital Medical School and obtained his MD degree (University of London) in 2003. He has worked at renowned cardiac units such as Harefield, St. Mary’s and Hammersmith Hospitals. After completing his training, Dr. Sidhu was appointed as a Locum Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Hammersmith and West Middlesex Hospitals in February 2006 and worked there until his appointment at Darent Valley and St. Thomas’ Hospitals.

 

Services 

 

His interests include all aspects of Adult Cardiology and he takes an active role in providing an expanding, local service in Cardiology. This involves outpatient consultations providing advice and treatment for the entire range of cardiological conditions as well as skilled procedures. Dr. Sidhu is fully trained in echocardiography (transthoracic and transoesophageal), pacemaker implantation, cardiac catheterisation and coronary intervention (coronary artery angioplasty and stenting). Currently, Dr. Sidhu performs diagnostic cardiac catheterisation, permanent pacemaker implantation and coronary intervention procedures at both Darent Valley Hospital and St. Thomas’ Hospital.
