The focus of the Trust's Tissue Viability Service (TVS) is the prevention and management of pressure ulceration. The TVS supports patients with wounds that fail to heal, such as bed sores, leg ulcers, diabetic wounds, and other wounds that have failed to heal over time.
Our specialist nurses, who have extensive knowledge and expertise in this area, provide this valuable service across the hospital. The nurses proactively use the latest technology for prevention of wounds and also wound management including larvae therapy for wound healing.
The Tissue Viability nurses use a proactive approach which ensures that current evidence base is at the centre of its care delivery. This approach reflects the Trust's aspiration of ensuring that our patients have 'professional care, exceptional quality'.
The team is available to provide clinical support and to take referrals from any ward or department within the Trust.
