The cardiology team's objective is to deliver a patient-centred service, in modern facilities, accessible to all, integrated and as seamless as possible with primary care. Health Professionals will hopefully find this site a useful tool which will allow them to make appropriate use of open access tests and rapid access clinics for the benefit of patients. Where possible, patients will be offered direct listing for investigations and procedures ensuring that those patients identified with potentially critical disease are channelled rapidly through to an early diagnosis and effective treatment across the wide spectrum of cardiac conditions.
Darent Valley have a service for patients with coronary artery disease who need specialist treatment for coronary angioplasty. Patients benefit from faster results thanks to a portable cardiac echo machine, not only is the machine faster at powering up, it is more portable and easily taken from ward to ward.
